BR Extreme is the updated Japanese version of Primal Fury with balance changes and bug fixes it first came out on Japanese gamecube and was then later ported to the xbox (with cgi cut scenes in place of animated ones), it also has an extra character Fang who is a guest character from the Bloody Roar manga. ![]() You can actually find some videos from it. So I'd probably go for PF for the nostalgia personally, but Extreme is probably the better version to get. Xbox had much better fighting games that we would choose to play instead. But I had a lot more fun playing Primal Fury on the GameCube with my friends. 4 changed how health and beast mode worked which made the game a lot less unique. Extreme was technically better as it had improved graphics and an extra character. Primal Fury also adds a few new backgrounds, most of which look slightly better than the old ones, aside from some generic polygonal background geometry. It's not super balanced, but it is totally playable as a competitive game and who cares about balance anyways. There are some glitches present in Primal Fury that were fixed in Extreme. I remember a similar topic over a decade ago and it was almost unaminously Primal Fury.
